Obedience and Disobedience, is it really that black and white? Should I believe in a God who dangles his children over a fiery furnace compelling them to obey his rules? Or is there another way of understanding right and wrong?
Some of us were raised in a home where disobedience wasn’t a viable option. We were sheltered into a closet or beaten to a pulp, the world was viewed as evil, and the bible was shoved down our throats. Many of us have rebelled and turned against any form of rules and authority yet are still unsatisfied until we find G.O.D: Good Orderly Direction. In the Book of Exodus God introduces Himself to Moses and then the Hebrew people through offering some direction on how to get out of the mess they are in and promises a new land with a new freedom. But with freedom comes responsibility and with relationships come rules.
